Please take it to a licensed facility for evacuation and recharging. You could do damage to your system if run that way and damage to the atmosphere if you release the gas manually.
It shakes because it is overcharged. Needs some pressure released.
Is it just the compressor, or do other parts of the system rattle as well? If so, then you have either an overcharged system, or too much oil in the system.
Your AC compressor may be squealing due to a worn-out belt or a malfunctioning compressor. To fix it, you can try replacing the belt or having a professional inspect and repair the compressor if needed.
Any of the following.......... 1. The compressor is locking up. 2. You have a bad a/c clutch. 3. You have a bad drive belt. 4. You have a bad tensioner. 5. The a/c system is overcharged.

Too much refrigerant can do it, yes. System pressures get extremely high on both sides of the AC system when it is overcharged.
To fix the AC compressor on a 1990 Mazda Miata, first, disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access to the compressor. Check for leaks and test the electrical connections; if the compressor is faulty, it may need to be replaced. Remove the old compressor by detaching the refrigerant lines and mounting bolts, then install the new compressor, reconnect the lines, and recharge the AC system with refrigerant. Finally, reconnect the battery and test the AC system for proper operation.
Yes!!! Most definately.
Bleed off some freon until you have the right numbers. This should be done by a qualified ac mechanic with equipment to reclaim the freon.
the Clutch is not fully disengaged. compressor might need to be replaced. I would bring it to the shop. Look at the Compressor and if u notice shavings then it has done its duty. If you do not want the AC anymore and want a cheap fix. Just go to a AC shop and get them to remove the clutch. the Clutch is not fully disengaged. compressor might need to be replaced. It can damage the compressor.
Several times can cause this........ 1. The AC compressor is bad. 2. You have a restriction in the system. 3. You may have overcharged the a/c system. 4. You may have added too much oil back into the system.
