Usually indicates that you have a TCU (transmission control unit) problem. Take the car to a transmission shop and have them run a diagnostic on the tranmission and TCU. TCU usually runs around $150 to replace but you can sometimes find them cheaper at a local junkyard.
i cant find my tcu
I do not believe there is such a thing as a tcu. there is an ECM (engine control module), and a TPS (throttle positioning sensor) TCU: Transmission Control Unit. On a Jeep Cherokee (not sure about the Grand Cherokee), it's located on the passenger side behind the dash. You can reach it from the bottom without removing anything, but it is easier of you remove the bottom of the dash.
Problem with the transmission ECU. Don't confuse Engine Control Unit (ECU),with the Transmission Control Unit (TCU).The TCU is under the carpet of the passenger seat.Available on Ebay for less than 150.00
Just look at the top radiator hose. The tcu is screwed into the housing where the hose connects. ------------ I believe TCU stands for "transmission control unit." You're probably thinking of the thermostat. I'll recommend you to this longish edit I just made, detailing where the TCU is and how to remove it: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_exactly_is_the_transmision_computer_TCU_located_on_a_92_Mitsubishi_Diamonte&updated=1&waNoAnsSet=2~Pengauin
Transmission code P0700 for a 2001, 4 cyl automatic honda accord
Yes it will bolt up to it, but you will need a TCU ( Transmission Control Unit ) which is about a $730 part so that the transmission can shift right. Thanks -N
