On the driver's side brake pad there is the sensor. The two wires are connected and keep the light off, when the pad wears down enough that the wires become disconnected, then the light comes on, I just changed mine, they were about $50 and took me about an hour to completely change. It would be the best way to get the light off as far as I'm concerned.

Auto Zone is my reliable parts store for brake pads, they are reasonably priced and guaranteed for as long as you own your vehicle. Brake check offers brake pads for under 100.00 however they will quickly tell you that your rotors need to be turned or replaced.
Change the brake pads sensors. You must change them after every brake pad swap.
