How much antifreeze do a Ford Focus take?

it is a 50/50 mixture. Half antifreeze/coolant - half water. It is imperative that you follow this procedure when refilling, and use Distilled Water to mix with the pure coolant. After you complete this step you fill the system to the line in the de-gas bottle or usually known as the over-flow bottle. Total system volume unknown. There are probably depending on the Engine and Transmission combination. Refill CAUTION: When draining the engine coolant or changing any cooling system components, it is imperative that the coolant that is drained be refilled with the same specification of coolant. Failure to follow this instruction can result in damage to the cooling system and can cause damage to engine. Disconnect the heater supply hose from the engine.(Top hose of the Thermostat housing leading to the firewall) Using a funnel, fill the cooling system through the supply hose until the coolant starts to trickle from the engine (with the T-Stat housing removed). Reconnect the heater supply hose. NOTE: Make sure that the in-vehicle heater temperature control is in the HOT position and the heater blower switch is in the OFF position. Make sure the air conditioning is switched OFF. Ummm i do believe they said how much, not what kind or how to change it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cooling System, Initial Fill..........9 quarts

Additional information

Your VW diesel requires an oil meeting the VW 507 spec. The requirements for a diesel engine differ from a gasoline engine. Mobil One ESP, The Amsoil AFL mentioned above and very few others. Read the back of the bottle and look for the VW 507 rating. You can ask your local dealer what they recommend. Most dealers use Mobil One ESP as bulk for diesels.

Clutch pedal dont return back on your mk 3 vw golf 1.8?

1) Either your cable is frayed inside the cable sheath. (inexpensive, oil the new cable and sheath on replacement)

2)Or the clutch "push-rod" is wearing through the plate and in a short while will fail and need a new clutch. (expensive)

3)Or the little lever on the last housing has slipped on its splined shaft and you need a new one (inexpensive)

What is the tire pressure for a golf gti 2.0L?

Check blackwall. Should be around 32 psi if you are using the stock package that came with the car. Now if you are trying to alter the grip of your tire then 32 psi is what the manufacture recommends for that original equipment wheel and tire package only. Briefly, if you have aftermarket rims and tires then you have changed their equation and 32 psi is just a base standard to simply keep your tires stiff. Auto-Crosser, Drifters and Drag Racers change their tire pressure to suit there purposes and I myself never run as low as 32 psi on the street or otherwise.

Where is the obd II pod in golf gti mk4?

It's on the lower dash/console about mid way between the steering wheel and the pedals. Look around the leg area on the lower dash about where your shins are when you're driving. Go low and look up. You can't miss the multi-pin plug built right into the dash.

Why does your golf MK2 1.8 8v idle goes up and down why it gets warm you put in a new idle contol valve and its still doing it?

ISVs are normally very reliable units and not usually the cause of erratic idling.

Vacuum leaks are a frequent cause of idle troubles. Trace the vacuum lines that run from the throttle body and check all connecting pieces are in good order as well as the vac pipes themselves. Also check the short rubber connector between the camshaft cover and the plastic 'drum' above it - leaks here will prevent the engine from idling correctly.

Check the connection to the throttle position switches on the throttle body. The lower switch senses the 'throttle closed' position and engages the ISV.

If there are any doubts about the fuel mixture then get the car tested/adjusted for emissions.

Disconnect the ISV when the car is hot and see if there is any difference to the idle speed. Ideally there should be little or no difference if the idle speed screw on the throttle body has been correctly set for 950 rpm. If there is a large difference (and everything else has been checked) then leave the ISV disconnected and turn the idle screw until the rev counter is as near to 950 rpm as possible. Finally reconnect the ISV.

Thermostats
VW Golf
VW Golf GTI
VW Jetta

Where to locate the thermostat in an 1985 VW golf?

The thermostat is located at the bottom of the water pump. Follow the lower radiator hose to the water pump and you will see it connects to the water pump outlet (molded plastic/cast alloy depending on year). The outlet is secured by two 10mm bolts. The thermostat sits inside the outlet. Have a fresh O-ring handy in case the old one is perished (a decent thermostat kit should come with O-rings).

Metal and Alloys

Will golf mk4 alloys fit a mk3 golf?

yes as long as they are the same stud fitment.

The mk4 golf is 5x100 bolt pattern and the mk3 golf is 4x100. unless it's a vr6 model which has the 5x100 bolt pattern so in general the mk4 wheels will not fit a mk 3.

try changing all the filters especially diesel filter

It means the fuel is not being burnt fully or too much is being injected. common causes are plugged air and fuel filters and bad timing. sometimes worn injectors can cause this also. this is common on very high mileage cars.
