Why does your 1992 Cabriolet automatic looses power during stop and go traffic?
Asked by Burziroot
The 1992 Cabriolet automatic may lose power during stop-and-go traffic due to issues with the transmission, such as slipping or overheating. It could also be caused by a clogged fuel filter, faulty ignition components, or a problem with the engine's air intake system. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic to diagnose and address the specific cause of the power loss.
How many miles does a VW Cabriolet drive on average?
Asked by Wiki User
Do you mean in its entire lifetime? My 87 Cabriolet has gone 210,000 miles without a major engine overhaul and still has its original transmission. I do take very good care of my vehicles but changing the oil every 3000 miles, replacing fluids, checking for worn parts and replacing them where needed. I have no doubt that it can go another 100,000 miles without the need to completely overhaul the engine. Take care of your cars from the beginning and they'll be good to you. My 88 Cab has 115,000 miles and hasn't needed any repairs beyond regular maintainance requirements. Only replaced parts are hoses, belts, etc that have to be changed after certain milage/time milestones as normal wear and tear.

Asked by Wiki User
Depends on the year, if it is a newer truck than the theft system will have to be relearned. turn the key on and let it sit for 10 minutes. on some vehicles this works, otherwise you need to have it done at a gm dealer.

If your car hesitates when the brakes are applied, and or when you are driving it acts like it is giving itself gas, or accelarating on its own, The problem is your Throttle Position Sensor(TPS). It costs about $34.00 at autozone, and only takes about 10minutes to replace. sounds like you need a tune up. could possible be fuel filter or fuel pump. sounds like you need to replace fuel filter, air cleaner, and maybe a tune up

How do top up the hydraulic fluid in a volkswagen Golf roof pump?
Asked by Wiki User
Go in trunk; remove 4 screws from the pump cover (2 at either bottom corner, 2 at top close together) and remove that. There is a gold coloured nut sitting atop the now visible reservoir. Unscrew that. You can now top up the reservoir VERY slowly (use a small funnel otherwise the hydraulic oil will get everywhere) and reverse process when done. Only 5 minute job. THIS IS FOR A MK3 (93-98) I think its same for other models too, certainly MK4's.

Turn on interior lights. Start engine. If the lights go out when the engine stalls, you have a bad ignition switch.

The horn is honking because the lower bearing in your steering column and the contacts are touching when you turn the wheel. It will need to be taken apart but unfortunatly thet bearing and race is no longer available from VW. Get a good mechanic and he will find somthing that will work.
Good luck
2001 Ford Focus engine cuts out and stalls when driving up hill?
Asked by Wiki User
I've had the same problem. mine was fixed with a couple different steps. 1. Take to ford dealership have them change out fuel pump for free under recall. 2. change the fuel filter myself. 3. change out PCV hose and PCV valve. 4. clean throttle body. 5. use electronic cleaner to clean out MAF sensor. 6. change air filter. This made a huge difference in my car and hopefully helps you
