Can daytime running lights on Toyota highlander be turned off?

Yes! For a 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, at least, all it takes is the removal of one relay labelled DRL to deactivate with no ill effects. It's a five-minute job that took me almost a year to discover.

How do you turn off daytime running lights in a ford explorer 2003?

If the Explorer is running engaging the parking brake is supposed to turn the daytime running lights off , otherwise the daytime running lights are supposed to shut off when the engine is shut off . I have a 2004, Eddie Bauer Explorer. On the light switch itself, there is a selection to turn on or off the day lights, as well as the extended, courtesy lights after ignition is turned off.

How can you disable the daytime running lights on your 2008 Toyota RAV4 so that you can use the regular head lights only?

While the Rav4 is turned off, pull the emergency brake up one click and then start it up. This will leave the running lights off and the emergency brake will not be engaged when it is pulled up only one click.

The daytime running lights on a 92 ford tempo stay on even when the car is turned off What might the problem be?

Check the daytime running lights module. This item was defective in some vehicles in the early 90's, and when it failed the result was lights that would not turn off or they would be very dim when the vehicle was running. You can check for recalls at the dealer.

What is wrong on your 96 Contour when your brights indicator is flashing and your daytime running lights are off?

Answering my own question here, it's what I thought it was. One of my high beams was out, so my high beam indicator was flashing when my headlights were not turned on. As for the daytime running lights, they came back on when I changed the bulb.

Why are the headlights remaining on after a 1991 Dodge Caravan engine is turned off?

I am having the same problem with a 1994 model. The high beam indicator is also on. I believe it is related to the daytime running lights because when I turn on the headlights the lights get brighter. As I understand it daytime running lights are the highbeams at about 50% power. I need to find where that relay is and test/replace it. wish me luck...

How does the daytime running lights on a 2001 volkswagon jetta operate Can the Daytime Running Lights be turned off manually?

Usually the lights will be always on the only way to turn them off manually is when you engage the parking brake, if you need them off during the day time you can pull up the parking brake to the first notch and it shouldn't affect the brake at all. That's how I do it on my 98 jetta at least
