No, I don't believe they can. It depends on the agreements of the split custody; if there is split custody.

Technically, the law only forbids a parent moving out of state with the child if there is split custody, but if there is full custody, I do believe that its allowed.

In any case if you're only visiting, Theres nothing in the law that prohibits you.

I grew up with divorced parents, although there were no custody agreements.

Are two unwed persons who are the parents of a common child but do not live together considered immediate family?

They are considered immediate family depending on perspective. In this scenario, if someone were to ask the child who his immediate family members were, the child would name both the mother and the father (as they are indeed, part of his or her immediate family). If one were to ask the mother who her immediate family was, it would include the child, but not the father of the child. If one asked the father who his immediate family was, the answer would include the child, but not the mother. The mother and father are part of the child's immediate family, but they are not part of their counter-part's immediate family.

Can a father who is not married to the mother but is on the birth certificate take the child from the mother in nebraska to a different state?

It depends, are you divorced from her. If you are, the answer is no if you are planning on staying there. However, if you are just visiting the state, then there should be no problem. If you and the mother have not ever been married, then there is nothing wrong with you taking the child.

Do you still receive child support if he is visiting his father?

Depends on how long the visit is. But if the father is the non-custodial parent in this case, then he will have to pay child support on this child. Different states vary in their laws. But typically a "visit" will not affect child support.
