what would cause a rubbing noise on drivers side front wheel especially when braking ( I replaced rotor and wheel bearings are good) ?
This can be a defective left front wheel bearing. Can also be the tire is rubbing against the fender liner. Loose wheel will also cause this. Inspect everything.
Handbrake and foot brake use different callipers - the handbrake only works on 1 set of wheels (front or rear) whereas the foot brake uses separate callipers on all 4 wheels. In your case, I would guess the handbrake calliper on the affected wheel has failed. Other, foot brake callipers and disks obviously working OK.
Could be many things, such as as wheel bearing or tire, but most often it is the little warning clip rubbing on the rotor indicating that your brake pads are worn.
The actual cause was a defective wheel speed sensor which when replaced reset the indicators.
Could be a worn out shock or wheel bearings. Is it 4 wheel drive?
Have that tire checked sometimes the belts inside can break and cause a thumping noise
It could just be the wheel rubbing the inside of the wheel well. Turn the wheel all the way to one side and see if you can see tire rub marks on anything. I had that same problem with my dakota, and it took me about a week to figure out it was actually the heat shield above the muffler rubbing against the driveshaft. I believe it only occured when turning right because of the location of the muffler? Hope that helps...
There could be a few things that can cause this humming sound. It could be the wheel bearings rubbing, it could be the gears rubbing, it could even be coming from the engine pistons.?æ
An expert would have to hear the noise. Some possibilities are dry top bearing of the shocks, horn ring loose in steering wheel, tire rubbing on frame - -
There are several things that could be causing this noise to come from your front wheel well. You could have a faulty wheel bearing, a brake could be dragging, or a hub is rubbing.
you pull the brake lever and lift off but also wind up the jockey wheel Pull on handbrake, make sure tow vehicle handbrake is fully on unplug electric plugs, pull towball release handle and then wind DOWN jockey wheel.
