Feeders found from outside always have risks of carrying parasites and sicknesses. If you are able to find a captive bred colony or a seller, great. Make sure that the feeders are no bigger than the space between the animals eyes.

like all live feeders a stable source of food and water need to be provided if the feeders are being left in over night. If there is not the locust will resort to its next best option, which ultimately would be your leopard geckos eyes or finger tips.

Yes geckos are like any other reptile that feeds on insects. Geckos are present mostly in the warm and arid regions throughout world. Locusts are also abundantly found in these regions. Hence locusts are a major food source for geckos.

Locust's are or can grow to be very large insects depending on species of locust. Any gecko, regardless of species should not be consuming live feeders bigger that the space between the geckos eyes. Yes, approptiately sized locusts would be acceptable for tokay geckos. Don't forget to gutload and dustfeeders prior to feeding.
