The Triops may very well eat the fish. I wouldn't try this. Even if the fish did eat the Triops, would you really want to do this considering the fact that a Triops has a shell? Seems like instant indigestion or worse to me.

possibly daphnia, baby triops or fairy shrimp. If you have just hatched your triops it is more likely to be fairy shrimp, but if they are over a week old they should have eaten all of the fairy shrimp, daphnia can become a problem when triops are well fed and dont eat them, but they wont hurt the triops

I have tried, and it doesn't seem to work very well. The triops usually get sucked into filters, or eaten/picked at by the fish. That doesn't mean you cant, it just means that the way I tried it did not work. If you kept them with very small fish, in a tank with a sponge filter (where they cant get sucked up), that might work better.

It is not recommended. Goldfish are cold water fish while tropical fish are warm water fish. Also, goldfish need to be fed more often than most tropical fish and they produce elevated amounts of waste which can be detrimental to fish not accustomed to it.

What to do with your triops when on holiday?
well, fully grown triops have quite an appetite and will probaly die if not fed for 2-3 days. i suggest letting your friend have them round theirs to look after. it then works for you and your friend.
