yes thy can
Betta fish do not "have" babies. The male betta fish builds a bubble nest and then courts the female, she will display horizontal bars (not vertical) to let him know she's ready. They will do the betta "wrap" and she will drop eggs as he fertilizes them. At this point he scoops up the eggs and puts them in his nest. Her part is done and it is best to remove her for her safety. The male will care for the eggs until they hatch at which point his job is also done.
Not with one another. No. A male is required.
Depending on the size and condition of the female one spawning can result in anything from 30 or so to 200 plus fry.
I think they at least have about 100 but I'm not sure I hope this helped any one
they can have from about 5 to about 200
Nothing will happen but if you put a female betta fish and a male betta fish their going to figth so make sure to have that thing that separates them male betta fish can figth and if a male betta fish has babies separte them and keep them away from their parents and when they grow up check if their a male or a female if their female put them on the same tank put there might be a lot of females if i was u i will just sale them cuz i think you only have one tank but thats my opinion and if somebody needs a question just tell me my name is Allison Hamilton
So far, Betta fish attack any other fish it sees...
With or without a dominant fish in the tank two female bettas shouldn't fight. It's only the male of the species that fights.
yes but once the female runs out of eggs to make babies the male will kill herNo, unless you want: 1. To kill the two betta's or 2. You want eggs. As you probably know, betta's are also called Siamese fighting fish. so if you leave 2 betta's alone in one tank, they will mostly kill each other in the next hour. Good Luck!Source(s): I own a betta, and it has been living with me for 3 years
no because theirs not enough space
Well, if you love your Betta fish, then it should live by itself. But if you add another Betta to your current Betta fish's tank, then they will start a fight because Betta Fish are Siamese fighting fish and if one Betta is in contact of another Betta, the possible reason would be a fight between them two.
Some male betta fish are not as aggressive as others.
Welll...yeah, in a General Sense, the Betta is Calm. However, two male Bettas together are the Antithesis of Calm. Two female bettas together will pretty much ignore one another. One male and one female betta will either Fight or F***...uhm, lay eggs, that is. As a COMMUNITY FISH, the Betta will generally not attack fish of other species....it is not a fish built for Speed and Chasing, as it were....in that sense, it is indeed Graceful and Calm. In my experience, it is more likely that a long-finned male Betta will be Pestered by the other species (ex: Tiger Barbs) than it is to Pester its (non-Betta) tankmates. You mean betta fish, right? Betta fish cna lay eggs if you have two of the opposite gender in the same tank. If you have a male and female betta in one tank, they won't fight. If you have two females or two males, they will fight. So, you could see if they get allong. ig the bettas do lay eggs, they can still live together, but you MUST place tyhe eggs in a seperate tank, or they'll most likely be eatten. As for the lifecycle of a betta fish, if properly cared for, they can live for years. Two years is very old for some fish, but one man had a goldfish for 13 years!
Betta fish get in fights with fish with colorful fins and bodies. If your betta gets in a fight while your away, the weaker fish may die. But if you see your betta fight with another fish you should try to split the two fish apart [or all the fish that are fighting].
Before the mating period, the male betta will create a bubble nest, where the eggs will reside. Once the female is near, they will usually fight each other before finally mating. Once they finish, the male will take the eggs in his mouth and put them in the nest. If these are pet betta fish, then the female should be removed after an hour or two.
That's not it's species- but bettas will be aggressive towards other fish. Two males shouldn't be put together, neither should a male and female. Two females would be okay
