Can two people from different countries love each other even if they can't speak the other's language and can't communicate in even the most basic ways?

Music and love is universal and no words need to be spoken. However, I suggest each of you take a course on the other's language. The more we learn about things in this world the further ahead we are. You do have ways to communicate. A smile, holding hands, kissing, hugging, holding each other close while listening to soft music.
The look in one's eyes says it all (the eyes are the windows of the soul.) Get moving the two of you and start learning each other's language and for now hold each other tight, brush your hand across his/her face and smile a lot! My mother had a Chinese neighbor who couldn't speak a word of English and I was awe struck all through those many years how my mother and her Chinese friend could communicate.

I think most folks would agree that some communication, whether verbal or non-verbal as suggested in the previous answer, is an essential ingredient in any loving relationship. Think of it this way, if you can't communicate, then you have no way of knowing anything about the other person other than what you can physically observe. In this case, all you're really "loving" is simply an idea of the other person...a projection of the qualities that you would like to think the other person possesses.

I'm a little more realistic. I think it's sweet and romantic, but the fact is you really cannot get to know someone deeply without communication. I think in the long run, you're just kidding yourselves unless you make the effort to learn each other's language.
