Yes, Vista is very compatible with Visual Studio, and is recommended. VS 2008 and 2010 as far as I know of are compatible with Windows 7 also.

The best way to get Pinnacle Studio 7 to work on Vista is to run the computer in an XP compatibility mode. Newer versions of this software are compatible with the Vista platform.
Yes. It can run.
Yeah, it's developed by Microsoft.
The latest version of Visual Studio is Visual Studio 2008 (v9.0).
I have it on vista. Maybe XP, but I don't know.
Hey, I have Fireworks, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator MX 2004 running on Vista Ultimate 32-bit with a few issues, but all in all it works well. Needed to run Dreamweaver as Administrator, and had to run every application in the studio in compatabiliy mode for XP SP2. Fireworks also required that I disabled visual styles. All the options you need should be in the compatability tab in Vista when you view the properties of the main executable files (ie Flash.exe). Cheers, Dan Ward (www.dan-ward.net).
Wine works so you can download software for Windows and open it in Wine. You can simply run the exe setup file with wine and then it should work well. See the wine website to see if visual studio works on wine or not. It says that visual studio 2010 does NOT work, so if that's what you have it's not even worth trying.
Visual Studio Express can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/express/ The other editions of Visual Studio are not free and must be purchased.
