There certainly are. The industrial revolution really started in the UK in the 1700's because of having coal and iron ore, and steam engines were invented and developed here before other countries, and used to a great extent on railways and shipping in the 1800's. The main coal fields were in the north of England, in Scotland, and in South Wales. Anthracite (a very hard dense form of coal) from S Wales was particularly in demand for steam engines.
In recent years coal mining has reduced a lot and many mines have closed, but some are still active.
