I think you will find, its not van you add...but they were supposed to be included...YOU DON'T PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT IS INCLUDED OR NOT...everything...all assets ad all debts are included, some may be treated differently than others - BUT IT IS NOT YOUR CHOICE.
Your problem may become that you likely swore and signed several things to the court that you had done so.
He may be in pain. Have him and his tack checked. Also, make sure you are confident about jumping. If you are hesitant to go over your horse will most likely pick up on that, and be unconfident also. You should also make sure you aren't jerking on his mouth. Make sure you give him plenty of slack when you go over. Also, make sure you are balanced and well seated. If you are off balance, so will be your horse, which will make him unalbe to go over the fence, making him refuse it. If this doesn't fix it, the horse may be scared of the jump. Go back to pole work for a while and see if that helps. Also, some horses need more than a trot to get over a jump. My horse was like that. Try cantering him over.
