Simple answer is, No. It is fixed and the computer adjusts the timing, depending on sensors. Although, it does need to be set up correctly, if it has been removed.
The 1990 K1500 pickup truck parking brake is equipped with a adjustment bolt. Turn the adjustment bolt in or out to adjust the parking brake.
It should be located on a tag under the hood.

Ping is caused by the timing being too far advanced either becasue it is set to far advanced or the advance system is malfunctioning. Prior to 1996 you can adjust the timing manually but after '96 the computer does it all.

the 1996 s-10 blazer 4.3 vortec has the computer in the engine compartment on the left hand side....if this is true, you cannot, I repeat, cannot adjust the timing.....the computer adjust the timing....you should be able to read it on the sticker under the hood..... ------- The timing is computer controlled - no way to adjust it, the computer does all of that for you.
