It depends on the state (and then within that state, a specific school may or may not require more than an AA/AS degree). For example, in California only 60 undergrad units are required even if you don't have a degree, but certain law schools in CA still require a BA/BS degree. You'd want to research the state and schools you're interested in.

It's possible, but very unlikely. Many Law Schools do not allow this; however, a few will allow it under irregular circumstances.

The standard practice is to receive a bachelor's degree, then apply to Law School.

Not with just an associate degree. To become a lawyer within the United States, you must complete your bachelor's degree. Then there will be three years of law school to obtain the juris doctor (JD) degree. After that you must pass the bar-exam within the state you wish to practice. There are no required or recommended programs of study (majors) at the undergraduate level. Your major can be in anything. However, if you wish to practice corporate law, then a business degree would be appropriate. If you want to practice criminal law, then a major in criminal justice might be an option etc.

There may be some that will admit you with an associates degree. However, most require a bachelor's degree. The type does not matter.
