There are three approaches to becoming an RN as follows.

* Associate of science in nursing (AS)

* Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) * Diploma in nursing from an accredited nursing program If you do not have a bachelor's degree, I would advise you do not choose the third approach. Some courses will transfer to a degree program in nursing. These courses might include some general education courses such as English, humanities, Social Sciences, etc. However, the critical science courses you will need to complete are anatomy and physiology, microbiology, inorganic, organic and biochemistry. I would strongly advise you complete the science courses before entering the professional phase nursing courses due to the intensity of the program.
