In California it is illegal to carry a Baton or any type of "Billy". It is a Felony and punishment can be at least 1 year maximum in Prison. However if it is on Private Property(wich a car is considered) there is no law against it. However that is debatable. It is not illegal to own one in your home, However I have a collapsible Baton and carry it with me as I believe in our second amendment. A "Billy" is clearly an arm in which is governed under the second Amendment, as is my Ka Bar combat knife that I carry on me at all times. I firmly believe in the everything involving arms aside from the Second Amendment is only Unconstitutional, However since there has been no clear law making the second Amendment unconstitutional, LEO stil obide by the laws given by the state and within the cities, leaving the argument between which is truly unconstitutional, the Felonies, or the Second Amendment . I will stand to the end to protect my rights, your choice is upto you. Honestly carry it if you choose to, however if you fear being hassled by the cops or cannot provide a good fight in court i would not do it. However if everyone would stand up for this right the government cannot do anything to stop us. What are they gonna do, arrest everyone? Then what country would we have?haha
