Yes. Everybody has the possibility of having a seizure during their lifetime. Someone who has epilepsy has lots of seizures. So it is possible to have a seizure once and never have one again. That would not be regarded as epilepsy.

Does epilepsy causes seizures?

Epilepsy is defined as the tendency of having recurring seizures. Seizures don't "turn into" epilepsy. Epilepsy is a broad ranging term that covers a range of things, but generally relating to the fact that someone has recurring seizures. If someone is having recurring seizures, then they should got to see a doctor and try to find out what is the cause of them, and get a formal diagnosis of their problem.

Why does Oxycontin cause epilepsy?

It can affect the brain, and anything that disrupts the working of the brain can cause seizures. Having seizures is only a possible side effect and so it does not happen to everyone. If someone already gets seizures they are not meant to take oxycontin. Epilepsy is classified as a tendency to have recurring seizures. So even if someone took oxycontin and had one seizure, they would not be diagnosed as having epilepsy. Anyone can have a seizure in their lifetime at some point, but it is only people that have lots of them that are diagnosed as having epilepsy. So if taking oxycontin caused someone to have a seizure and then they never had one again, they would not have epilepsy and so saying that oxycontin can cause epilepsy is not really accurate. It is more accurate to say that it can cause seizures.

Are aneurysms and seizures linked?

As an aneurysm is considered a blood clot and a brain aneurysm is classified as a TBI, they both can affect brain activity and neuronal activity in the body; therefore, aneurysms can directly cause seizures, and possibly lead to the disease known as epilepsy. However, a person can develop epilepsy at birth without having an aneurysm. Epilepsy has many causes besides an aneurysm, and many factors and causes, unfortunately, can result in a person being diagnosed with epilepsy and/or seizures.

can epilepsy be detected in a fetus?

It is not detected in a foetus and it would not be looked for. Epilepsy is diagnosed by someone having recurring seizures. It is not a disease like an infection that can be detected. People are not necessarily born with Epilepsy. Epilepsy is a generic term that covers a wide range of problems that cause seizures. Anyone that has seizures gets them for their own particular reasons. Not everyone gets them for the same reasons. A person could be in an accident and receive a head injury and as a result start to have seizures. Seizures come from a wide range of causes and a wide range of severity. Flashing lights are known to cause seizures, but that is only in about 3% to 5% of people who have Epilepsy, not all people who have it.

Could mood swings be a sign of epilepsy returning?

Not necessarily, but that question can't really be answered without details of the patient, the nature and cause of their epilepsy and if they have any other health problems. Epilepsy is a physical condition, whereas mood swings would be more associated with psychological problems. The only real sign of epilepsy is having seizures.
