Then, press any of the buttons on the keyfob while the car is still in the ignite position, which will reset the immobilizer. no is the quick answer. if it is because the key wont turn (very common on these) you can still start it by holding the key in the immobilizer pickup and turn the ignition switch with a screw driver but you might have to drill the retaining pin out of the lock barrel.

The thermocouple is usually the first thing to change. It controls the valve and the spark ignition is just to light the pilot.
