Unfortunately No. Voltage potential is such that electric current will flow from a higher potential towards a lower potential in much the same way that water will flow from a high level to a lower level until it reaches equilibrium (balances out on both sides). If the battery is completely discharged then a 9 Volt charger may bring the battery up to around 9 Volts but it will never go above equilibrium. Connecting a fully charged 12 Volt battery to a 9 Volt charger will cause current to attempt to flow "backwards" into the charger. If the charger has (as many modern ones do) overload and other protection devices then the charger will simply shut down but if the charger has no such protection, it could cause permanent damage to the charger and, depending on the rate that the battery discharges, the battery could explode and one or both devices could in fact set on fire. Electricity can be potentially very dangerous and you should always ensure that you are using the correct equipment designed for the job. If in doubt, always seek professional advice. No, the battery charger has to match the voltage of the battery it is to charge.
No, an automobile battery charger outputs 12 Volts. This is far too many volts to charge a 5 Volt battery. You would destroy the 5 Volt battery with this charger.
Not on any modern car with a 12 volt system.
no, if you charge 9 volt battery with 12 volt battery you will destroy 9 volt battery
As long as it is a 12 volt battery you can if you set the charger on low.
Yes, you can use a twelve volt car battery charger. Be sure to set it on low.
Yes as long as it is the right voltage: a 6v battery needs a 6v charger; a 12v battery needs a 12v charger. <><><> If you can set the battery charger's output to give either a 6 or a 12 volt output, then you must always remember to set it to 6 volts if you want to use it to charge a 6 volt motorcycle car battery.
your car is usually has a 12 volt battery, on the charger set it to 12 volt charge, the batter will tell you how long to charge it usually 4 hours, do not overcharge, will damage battery :)
The charger needs to be set to charge for the voltage that the battery is designed to produce. Most car batteries are 12 volt batteries.
14 hours approx
I charge my battery 4 hours and 30 minutes
Unless it's an old vw bug, cars usually run on a 12 volt dc system nowadays. Motorcycles often run on a 6 volt dc system. Different systems require different charging voltages so you won't ever be able to charge a 12 volt car battery from a 6 volt motorcycle battery charger as the output voltage would be way too low. However, if you can set the battery charger's output to give either a 6 or a 12 volt output, then you must always remember to set it to 12 volts if you want to use it to charge a 12 volt car battery.
