Yes with Propriatary Sony Component Cables. Here's a Link. http://www.GameStop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802600
PS3 has a HDMI output that can take the PS3 HDMI combo A/V cable that comes with the console when purchased and is used for standard 480 TVs or you can use an optional PS3 Component and HDMI cable or a HDMI cable with the HDMI plug on both ends. So on every PS3 cable one end has a HDMI plug that goes into the PS3 and the other end of the cable has different connections including one optional cable with S-Video on the other end.
No, to play your ps3 in HD you must have a HDMI cable. Nowadays they are going really cheap
Amazon America= $7.99
Amazon UK= £4.99-£9.99
Hope t helps
You can connect it to the HD component on your HDTV with no problem. Sony PS3 accessories even sell the cable for just that purpose. PS buying the cheap HDMI cables is not the way you want to go. Some are so cheap that shipping costs more than the cable.
No while the graphics are better than a PS2's without a HDMI cable You will still need one to play in HD.
You can use a PS3 component cable to connect your HDTV to the PS3 and they are sold at Target.com, Walmart.com, Best Buy, and a number of other store. Instead of a single RCA video plug that is present on the A/V cable that came with the PS3 they have either an S-video plug or 3 RCA video plugs plus the two sound plugs. Your HDTV must be able to be connected to the component cable, but most HDTVs have either HDMI, component, S-Video, or a combination of the inputs. If you connect your HDTV with the A/V cable that came with the TV it will not be in HD, but it will still work just like TV shows that are not in HD work.
One end of the PS3 cable is an HDMI or it can not be connected to the PS3. The other end can be A/V like the one than came with the PS3, it can be a PS3 component or S video cable and connect to HDTVs without HDMI plugs, or it can be HDMI and the PS3 does not require a HDMI cable that says it is for the PS3. Only the first one is used to connect standard 480 TVs to the PlayStation 3, but is can also be used to connect HDTVs to the PS3 and receive 480 or standard TV reception. People who connect the PS3 to an HDTV with the A/V cable should consider purchasing a HD cable before they buy the next game.
The A/V cable that comes with the PS3 will connect only 480i standard reception and you must purchase an optional cable or HDMI cable for HDTV anyway. The cable is color coded and you plug the RCA style plugs into your TV in the inputs or aux
yeah of course if you have a HDMI cable.
If you think the PS3 includes something that will allow you to see and hear it without a connection to some device you would be wrong. All Playstation consoles needed to be connected to some form of television like device. Only the portables, PSP and PS Vita, allow you to see and hear without it being cconnected to a TV.
No you need a Blue Ray set up to Play Blueray
Use the A/V cables included with the ps3.
HDMI gives a potentially higher signal quality than component video - but whether you will get higher picture quality depends on the quality of your input signal. Blu ray needs HDMI, but anything at 720i or lower will get by on component.
I plugged the HDMI cable into the HDTV and into the PS3. Then I went to the settings for both the HDTV and the PS3 slim and set them for HDMI and sync. When it works right putting a disc into the PS3 will turn on the HDTV and also switch the HDTV over to that HDMI input rather than a cable box or similar item even if it was on the cable box when you last used the HDTV.
If the TV does not have a HDMI plug it is still possible to connect with a plug that has RCA or S-video plugs on one side and HDMI on the other. Sony has an Official Component AV cable and a Component AV cable and USB Cable Pack. Target.com has them for $30 and $20 through the link with Sony PSN. You don't. You either connect the PS3 to your HDTV with HDMI and the Comcast box to your HDTV with HDMI cables like I used to have or you connect the PS3 and Comcast Box with HDMI cables like I did to my home theater and then connect the home theater to the HDTV with a HDMI cable. My Comcast box is HD and I have a Sony HDTV and Sony Home Theater equipped with a HDMI repeater. If you are talking about connection for the internet it is not done with a HDMI cable, but an ethernet cable
Yes just connect it to the TV with the cable included when you purchase the PS3
Yes, you can connect a PS3 to an HDTV by a component cable or an HDMI cable.
To connect the PS3 to a HDTV you need an HDMI cable if your HDTV has an HDMI connection, if it doesn't you need a PS3 component cable.
You need to use the component PS3 cable that comes with HD PVR 2 to connect to the PS3 and then use the HDMI to connect it to your HDTV
The PlayStation 3 comes with an A/V Cable for non HDTV reception. If your HDTV has only Component connections then you should purchased the PS3 component cable, otherwise purchase the HDMI cable. The component cable has a number of plugs which must be connected to the HDTV and the HDMI has only a single plug so is the preferred method to connect the PS3 to the HDTV.
No you can use the A/V cable that came with the PS3. HDMI or a PS3 Component Cable is required for HD
HDMI gives a potentially higher signal quality than component video - but whether you will get higher picture quality depends on the quality of your input signal. Blu ray needs HDMI, but anything at 720i or lower will get by on component.
In order for the PS3 to work best on a HDTV you need to have or purchase either an HDMI or a component AV cable and connect the PS3 to the HDTV. The PS3 will play on a HDTV when it is connected with the AV cable that was provided, but it will not be in HD
HDMI cables are for the PS3
You plug one end of the HDMI cable into the PS3 and the other into the HDTV
take your hdmi cable and plug one end into the hdmi port in the back of the ps3 and the other end into your TV.
No you can use a HDMI cable for A/V connections or an optional PS3 component cable
The best way to connect the PS3 to a TV is with an HDMI cable. You must have a TV with HDMI input and you must purchase the cable as it does not come with the PS3. If your TV does not have an input for an HDMI cable or you do not want to purchase the cable you can use the color coded plugs on the cable that comes with the slim PS3 game console to plug it into your TV and the HDMI plug into your PS3 console.
