Yes, if there is a heat difference - between the cell phone and the environment in this case - in theory, it can be converted into electricity. But it doesn't seem very practical to do that - too much investment for an insignificant amount of energy. Besides, that would make the cell phone very bulky.

What energy changes in a telephone?

The voice from a person's mouth (air flow) vibrates a diaphram which translates the vibrations (mechanical energy) into electrical wave oscillations using an magnet and a coil. These electrical oscillations are superimposed on to a high frequency carrier wave and sent over physical wires, under sea cables, micro wave towers, satellites etc (purely electrical energy) and at the receiving end the carrier wave is removed and only the wave that was generated by the voice and hence the diaphram and hence the magnet and the coil is made to drive a coil over which is a diaphram which vibrates (mechanical energy) to reproduce the sound. Of late digital phones have come into the market but the basic principle is the same. Convert mechanical energy to electrical energy and then convert electrical energy to mechanical energy.

In what form does energy travel between cell phones?

It is electromagnetic energy that carries the data stream between cell phones. WikiAnswers is repleat with further explanations as to the workings of these handy gifts of modern technology.

How is Electrical Energy is used?

it is used to power things in the world we use like, computers, lamps, radios, and other things you plug in.

What is green cell phones?

Green cell phones are newer phones that are not yet that popular. These phones are able to be solar charged by the sun so you do not need to tap into an electrical outlet ever during daylight. This helps lessen the impact of energy consumption which accounts for most pollution in the world.

What is the energy conversion of a cell phone?

An ordinary cell phone has cell batteries (of course). Chemical energy is stored in the batteries and is converted into electrical energy when needed by the phone. This energy is converted into radio waves, or electromagnetic energywhen we speak and travels to other phones. It can also be converted into light energy for display and like almost all electrical energy conversions gives out thermal (heat) energy as waste.electrical energy -------> electromagnetic energy+light energy+heat energy

Do mobile phones use radiant energy?

Of course: phones transmit and receive electromagnetic signals, which are radiant energy.

Is it possible to convert voice signal into electrical energy in mobile phones?

In principle, yes, but you wouldn't want to wait around to do the job that way. Human ears are very sensitive, and the sounds around you carry very little energy compared to the energy used by common electrical gadgets. One or two watts of pure tone from a loudspeaker will drive you out of the living room, and the "ear buds" are blasting no more than a few milliwatts of sound power into your ear canals. You could hang a microphone out of your window, and use the sounds of traffic as you drive. It might charge your cellphone in a couple of weeks ... if you leave the phone turned off and don't use it.

What energy source is used to power cell phones?

Most of the stored energy is disappated as heat, about 10% is converted to electromagnetic radio waves that couple with the surrounding environment, about one billionth of the energy makes it to a receiver where the signal is converted into a digital signal that symbolizes information packets.
