You cannot "De-brand" a cell phone. You can however unlock a cell phone. if that cell phone's software and hardware are compatible with another provider's network, then that unlocked phone can be used with the other provider. Your best bet is to ask the prospective service provider if the software/hardware on the phone that you want to unlock is compatible with their network before investing in the phone

The only phone that can be locked with a pin code is a cell phone. If a person wants to lock out the home phone, perhaps it would be a good idea to discontinue service on the home phone and just use the cell phone instead.
just go to your local phone shop, if its a cell/mobile, they can unlock it with their computer, for i a fee usually, but its not that much.

The Samsung A707 can be unlocked using original usb cable that comes with the phone itself. If you want you can also debrand the phone (remote operator logos + update firmware) using SRS solution at home
