delete a partition on the system disk (C)
You need to use a partition editor.
There are many ways, but the easiest is to use a Windows 7 installation disk to delete the partition.
No. However, you can copy the contents from one partition to the other, delete the partition, and expand your remaining partition to use the remaining space.
Delete all data on a hard drive. Ditto!
If you will delete a partition, it will not be merged with c insted, you will loose all the data on that partition, and that space will remain as unpartitioned space on hard disk and you will not be able to use it until you re partition that space and format it. So if you want to merge both c: and d: than my advice is either you delete both partitions and create a new merged one or (If you Don't want to get into that mess or you don't know how to do it) You can use softwares which merge partitions like partition magic etc. .................................
First you need to download a partition manager and then install it on your computer. You need to choose the ones that support you delete partition with XP. Do you think so?
Just use a magic partition manager to help you. You can create, resize, move, format, delete, shrink, extend partiton freely with this nice partition tool. Such as miniaide magic partition, minitool partition wizard(free), you can experience the cool magic partition right away.
Use a partition manager like GParted or the one on the Vista setup CD to expand the NTFS partition. You cannot expand the partition while Windows is running on it.
