1. filter it using an appropriate filter paper. usually, filter papers are graded according to the size of their pores.

2. if filtration still gives you a murky water, just distill it. distilling it will separate water from soil particles.

Yes. Heat will evaporate the water but not the mud particles (sand, dirt etc.).

If you collect the condensed water vapour you get very clean water. A good (and cheap) way to do it is by building a solar still. Solar stills only use the heat from the sun. The vapour will condense on the surface of a piece of plastic (or a piece of glass) so the drops of condensed water can be collected. I've built several of these and they work like a charm.
