No, it says on the back of your permit that it's wise to call that states office/DMV, and ask first. If you're pulled over, I doubt they could/would do much. It really does matter what state you live in. In NC you can drive out of state lines as long as you have your driver in the car, and driving in the time frame(if it has or has not expired)

∙ 13y agoIn some, yes, but not all states will allow you to. These states do not recognise an out-of-state learner's permit, period:
- Arizona
- District of Columbia
- Hawaii
- New Hampshire
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- Vermont
Additionally, while an resident of another state may operate a vehicle in New York State on a learner's permit, they may not drive in New York City.
When driving in a state other than the one which issued your learner's permit, it is your responsibility to ensure you know the laws of that state before driving into it.
