Yes, it is part of the benzodiazepine family, which includes Xanax, Klonopins (Clonazepam), Valium, etc..

Depending on how long and what dosage was taken it can show up on a screening, however, that doesn't reflect any difference in the drug screen if you are presribed them. I was on Klonopin for a while, but I have panic disorder which needs immediate relief so I was switched to Xanax for it. I have taken multiple drug tests for job interviews and so far every single one has come up positive for benzodiazepines which I had to show either a doctors note or my prescription bottle.

I've had a different experience than the person above....

I take 1-2mg of clonazepam daily. I am also on a drug testing program with 3 different types of drug screens performed twice a week; NONE of them ping positive for benzos. Amazing. My employer sends my urine samples and oral swabs to a lab for testing, and my doctor gives me the quick, home-kit urine test. The lab is supposedly infallible with its results, but it's not picking up the Klonipin I take.

I asked an addiction Doctor Who knows all about this stuff why clonazepam (versus other benzos like lorazepam) flies under the radar and is undetectable. He said it has a "slightly different chemical structure" than lorazepam and the others. I would be interested to hear the input of someone with knowlege of the chemistry of these drugs, versus just some Yahoo like myself who's getting away with a free-be.

Clonazepam stays in system longer than alpraxolam. Clon. has very long half-life, most for a benzo, but not much of euphoria, even in large amounts--wheras xanax (alprazolam) is much better high with short half-life. How long benzo drugs, like most drugs, stay in system is highly dependent on how much you take each day and how long you have been taking the drug on a regular basis.

It depends on the type of drug test. If they then send the urine sample off for detailed analysis, then yes, you may fail the test. If you have a presecription for the medication then everything should be fine. If you don't have a prescription you should stop taking the drug.

Clonazepam will show up on a immunoassay screen. This is now a standard process to check for this drug in a routine drug screening.

Absolutely. Clonazepam will show up as a benzodiazepine, and unless you have a prescription to back it up, you will be in trouble.

Will a drug test show suboxone and Klonopin if I have not taken any in 5 to 10 days?

not sure of the half life on suboxone or wheather it is a chemical compound that would come up on most drug screens but if you took the klonopin fairly regularly (and not just once) it will definitely show up on a drug screen. Benzos like clonazepam stay in your system a long time especially if you have taken them consistently for a while
