You can but you cannot print out incoming faxes if your out of ink.
AnswerFor paperless faxing, you can use the internet fax service which store fax documents into your online account. Since online faxing do not require a fax machine, you don't need to worry about getting out of ink. Unless you really need to print out a copy of the fax document, you can use your fax machine or printer.
