Yes, you can feed garden birds grapes, preferably sliced.

Grapes will attract Songbirds, especially mockingbirds if you live in the US.

It is best to wait until the spring and summer seasons before feeding grapes to wild birds. They can also eat chopped apple, pear and banana. The reason why you should ideally wait for spring and summer is because this is the time of year when adult birds will be feeding new hatchings. Harder and fattier foods such as seed and bread carries the risk of choking the newborn chicks. Fattier food also puts adult birds at a disadvantage because the fat will keep the summer's heat inside their bodies. So fruit is a great, healthy alternative to birds in spring and summer.

They will also eat the green parts of lettuce (avoid feeding them the white parts), cucumber and cress. If you have dandelions in your garden, allow the birds to munch on them rather than spraying a weed killer on them. Leafy vegetables in particular are beneficial to feathers and maintaining the feather colouring.

Leave the fruit on the grass or a bird table rather than a bird feeder, because if the fruit is in a feeder then it can become trapped inside or the heat and humidity can cause the fruit to rot, attracting flies and wasps.
