You can always fight a charge. You will have to decide whether the expense and lost time is worth it and you may not win even if you hire a team of lawyers.
Below is some advice from one who did not fight a similar charge but wished he had:

Get an attorney, and yes, I am serious. I was charged with this same offense in 2003 and paid the $25 ticket I received by phone within two days of the ticket, as advised by the ticketing officer. Nearly ten years later, ( I found) a MISDEMEANOR conviction is on my permanent criminal record unbeknownst to me.
