Absolutely. Go to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society's website cmohs.org and you'll find the full list of everyone who was awarded the Medal.
There is no such US medal awarded to soldiers killed in action. However, any medal may be awarded to a US soldier after his death. The WW1 German Blue Max was one medal that can NOT be awarded after death. Only one such medal was awarded posthumously. Lt. Wilhelm Paul Schreiber died while his award was being processed. Also, the Blue Max was awarded to Lt Rudolf Windisch while he was a Prisoner of War. When the war ended, they searched to find him and present his award but no record was ever found of him and the award went uncollected.
See the link. It is a complete list of all MOH citations.
I have posted two links for you to find out the medal of honor recipients of the 82nd Airborne. One of the links is for the association and they can help you if these links do not adequately give you a solution.
There are several websites. If you know what medal the ribbon represents, go to that medal's website. Some sites have a chart of all US military medals and ribbons.
There were no awards of the Medal of Freedom in 1948. For more information, see the attached link. Actually, this is not exactly right. My grandfather, John R. Schultz, was awarded the Medal of Freedom on June 2, 1948 at Fort McKinley for "services rendered to American Prisoners of War during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines." I have a letter signed by a Captain Stubbs, dated May 18, 1948 advising my grandfather that he had received this honor: the medal is in kept by his eldest grandchild. However, when conducting my own research with my son, I saw that the look of the medal is totally different to the one of today. I do know that in 1962, President Kennedy issued a Presidential Decree changing the name to the Presidential Medal of Freedom and he expanded the award to include contributions of citizens in all facets of life. So, that's the concrete information I do have, but unfortunately, I have been unable to find any information on the web regarding 1948 recipients. There's obviously a piece of information missing somewhere. If anyone out there can help me solve this mystery please contact me.
Go to the Medal of Honor web site. You can find out there.
If you mean give it back, you can't. It is awarded to you and you can do with it what you want. You are not asked if you would accept one, you are awarded the medal because of your deeds. So, no matter what one does with the actual physical medal, you will always be on record as being awarded the medal. Think of the Academy Awards, some actors have been selected to receive the award based on the judgement of others regarding their achievement. Whether the actor is present to accept the award, refuses the award, sells the actual physical award trophy that person will always be on record as a person how received the award. The asker likely means what to do if you find a medal of honor that is not yours. It seems the best thing to do would be to contact the military for instructions. You are not allowed to wear such a medal if you didn't earn it, and you are not allowed to sell it.
Shoot it.

There is no complete or comprehensive listing of US medals below the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Marine Corps Brevet Medal. Your father's name is not likely to appear on any list you will find on the internet unless he put it there.
You can find the install code for the game Medal of Honor Pacific Assault on the back of the game's manual. If you don't have the manual then you can't install the game.
For the console it should be under 15 dollars, for PC i can find it for 3$

None of them do. The Medal of Honor is the highest award a military member can acheive and can only be given by the president. You will not find it anywhere on the internet, and if you do then it is fake because i promise you, no one or their family is going to give it up for any sum of money.
Yes but not that many it might take little to find a match
i dont even know if he received it i think it was justice marshall who received it...but i have the same question as you and i can not find it anywhere " Answer:"Justice" is one of Thurgood Marshall's titles, not his name. His biography does not mention the medal of honor. See attached link.
I had trouble finding it too. It's the painting in the ball room with the light shining on it.
