Can a 357 magnum shoot 38 long colt bullets?

No. A .357 Magnum revolver (not an automatic, lever action, or anything else with a headspaced chamber) can fire .38 S&W Special ammo, but not .38 Long Colt.

Will a 357 revolver shoot both 38 cal bullets and 38 special?

There are a dozen different cartridges with 38 in their name, and SOME are compatible with the .357 Magnum. A .357 will fire .38 Special, .38 Short Colt, .38 Long Colt- but NOT .38 S&W.

What ammo can be used in a 38 spec revolver?

.38 Special, .38 Long Colt, .38 Short Colt. .38 S&W CANNOT be used in a .38 Special. .38 Special can be fired from a .357 Magnum weapon, but .357 Magnum cannot be fired from a .38 Special weapon.

Can you fire a 357 round out of a 38 long colt pistol?

No. .38 Long Colt was the forerunner to .38 Special- and was originally a black powder cartridge. The .38 Special is more powerful- the .357 magnum is MUCH more powerful. Neither the Special nor the magnum should be fired in a gun chambered for .38 Long Colt. This is VERY dangerous.

Is the cartridge of a caliber .357 can load and fire on caliber .38 revolver?

No. The .38 Special cartridge can be fired in a .357 Magnum revolver - and only a revolver, which does not require chamber headspacing - but it doesn't work the other way around. The .357 Magnum cartridge is too long to fit into a .38 Special cylinder, and the .357 Sig cartridge is in no way compatible, either with the .357 Magnum or the .38 Special.

Can you use colt 45 and colt 45 long in the same pistol?

Actually, the cartridges are .45 ACP (automatic Colt Pistol) and .45 Colt (the cowboy era revolver cartridge. There is not really a Colt 45 Long. Can a revolver shoot both? Some can- they are chambered for the Colt .45 -but to shoot .45 ACP they need a "half moon clip"- a strip of metal that holds 3 of the shorter .45 ACP cartridges. 2 of those fill a 6 shot revolver. The PISTOL (not revolver) that shoots the .45 ACP cannot shoot the .45 Colt- no groove for the extractor to pull a fired cartridge out of the chamber, and it is too long.
