It is possible, however, government agencies DO have the ability, and the legal authority, to access your expunged criminal history. If the offense was not a serious one, perhaps. However if the offense was a felony, probably not, unless you were trying for a very low-level ocupation.

How do you answer questions on criminal history after a record has been expunged?

If the criminal record was truly legally expunged, then you are under no obligation to reveal the record unless you wish to do so. EXCEPT - when filling out certain forms or applying for certain jobs. (i.e. - applying for a law enforcement job - for a security clearance - etc)

Who can look into an expungement record I am applying for court job and had my records have been expunged who can see my records?

If your records were officially expunged it means that members of the general public cannot view your past criminal history.HOWEVER - the following organizations still have access to your record: all government agencies - the court system - law enforcement agencies - and organizations doing background investigations for government security clearances.

Can a person become a police officer with a felony over 10 years ago with a expunged record?

Even with an expunged record, your chances are really slim. My advice to you would be to talk with local police commanders before you attend the BLET (or whatever it's called in your state) course, and get their determination.Additional: Expunged records only mean that the PUBLIC cannot access your past criminal record. Law enforcement, the courts, and government agencies will still have access to it for background investigation purposes. From my background and experience I can safely state that you will be unable to secure a job as a sworn law enforcement officer with the power of arrest.

Does a felony ever go away in Indiana so you can get a job?

No, a felony will not ever go away unless a persons record has been expunged. A person would have to go to a district court and ask for a record to be expunged.

Can you get a job with any state if you have a felony on your record?

Sorry to tell you this, but while there are undoubtedly many jobs under state government employment for which you might quailfy, you may not be able to ever get a job in which any kind of "trust" is involved. Most state job requierments specify no convictions, and especially no FELONY convictions. Even if you have the offense expunged - so-called expunged records are available for checking by government agencies doing background checks.

Do you have to disclose a previous felony arrest if it was deferred or expunged?

Don't know about a 'deferred' offense but for expunged cases - no, you do not. However - if you apply for a government job of any type or with a private employer who will require a US Government Security Clearance - yes, you must. Expunged records are not closed to government background checks.
