There is no guarantee that your scholarship will be granted one year after another, that is unless the scholarship is granted for a predefined period of time. In some cases, some scholarships have clawback clauses i.e, if you "misbehave" they can be withdrawn without warning or you can be asked to reimburse the funds.
You have to understand that each year your financial situation can evolve, hence circumstances can change and affect the amount of financial aid you can receive, either Federal, State, Academic or Private.
