That's probably not a legal basis for an annulment. Annulment requires proof that one or both of the parties were incapable of contracting a marriage (ie, already married, siblings, drunk, unlawful purpose, underage, etc.)

If your spouse in unrepentent, get a divorce and put it behind you. Be content in knowing you weren't the bad guy, and at least you have learned a good lesson to pass along to your future children -- with a better man.

What if you file for annulment and your spouse is out of the country?

It doesn't matter where you got married. You have to get a divorce or an annulment before you can marry someone else. A legal marriage in any country in the world, is also a legal marriage in the US. You can't file for a divorce or annulment in the US unless you are an actual resident of the US

What would you do if your spouse betrayed your trust would you fix your marriage or go for divorce?

If this was the first time the spouse cheated and they are remorseful and want to stay in the marriage then yes, it is worth trying to save the marriage by seeing a marriage counselor who is not there to blame either spouse, but to give them the tools to strengthen their marriage. If the spouse continually cheats then it is best to get a divorce.

What is the Roman Catholic view on remarriage?

You have to get an annulment before you can, then its ok...Roman Catholic AnswerThe Catholic view is that marriage is a sacrament that is indissoluble, so the Roman Catholic view of "remarriage" is that there is no such thing. You could have a second marriage is your first spouse died, or you can renew your wedding vows on your anniversary but there is not such thing as remarriage. The above answer concerning annulments is a little mistaken, an "annulment" is a decree stating that what looked like a marriage actually wasn't. An annulment is a decree of nullity, a formal statement issued by the Church that looked into a supposed marriage and decided that no sacramental marriage ever took place. If is was valid, then an annulment could not be issued.

Can a marriage be annulled for religious reasons?

That depends entirely on what you are asking, how you are defining your terms. An annulment in the Catholic Church is granted for a defect in the original marriage - or before. Such an annulment is just a decree that no valid marriage actually happened. But such an annulment has no weight in most civil governments, and the reasons may or may not be religious. However, if you are asking if a marriage can be annulled, for instance, because one spouse becomes a Christian, then, yes, this is called the Pauline privilege where the marriage is dissolved not annulled. The Petrine privilege is where a valid but non-sacramental marriage is dissolved not annulled in the favor of the faith if one person becomes Catholic and wishes to be baptized.

Can you get an annulment from a spouse in Wisconsin if he is in prison and you have been married longer than 5 years and your spouse has been in jail for 18 months?

No, the spouse wishing to end the marriage would need to file for a divorce, in some states it is referred to as a dissolution of marriage. The prescribed divorce procedures required by the state of residency also apply to a spouse who is incarcerated.

Can you get an annulment because you feel your spouse lied to you before going to prison?

Maybe. It would depend on whether it really was a lie or whether it just felt like a lie, and what the lie was about. For example, if the spouse lied about his name, it could be grounds for annulment. If the spouse lied about a prior relationship, it would not.

Do you have to file an annulment if your spouse committed bigamy?

A person can only be married to one other person at a time. If a person attempts to marry a second spouse while they are legally still married to the first, the second marriage is void as a matter of law. An annullment action pre-supposes that the second marriage was legal, which is incorrect, therefore there is no need to annul it.
