Bad idea. If you really love this person and you want your future spouse and your parents to build a solid relationship do not get married without their consent. Whatever the holdup is, try to work that out first, even if it means to put the wedding off a bit. Now if your parents a being unfairly unreasonable and you and your partner are mature enough to handle the consequences then hey the choice is yours. Good luck on your decision. If you are over 18. or, in some states, you have to be over 21. It depends. If the legal adult age in your state is 18, then if you are 18+ you can get married without parents permission.

Yes you can but you need to be 18 to do it without parental consent. However in Scotland you only need to be 16.
