The animal has to actually have the roundworm for this to potentially occur. If you are unsanitary and never wash your hands then yes. This is especially true after you clean litterboxes or pick up after your dog. If you allow your cat to walk all over your kitchen counters and dining room tables where you eat, then you can certainly expect it.
