Fish are classified into three types depending on what they eat.
The three classifications are:
Angelfish ( Pterophyllum sp ) are predators/hunters in the wild. They eat small fish, insects, larvae etc. In captivity they will eat most good quality dried flake food. If you want them to do well and be really colourful and healthy it is always good to give them live food such as daphnia/whiteworms/brineshrimp etc at least once a week.
I have Tropical Angelfish and I feed them just dry fish flakes. Most Tropical Fish will eat the dry fish flakes as long as the can says "Tropical Fish Flakes".
Tropical fish have numerous predators including other fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and a variety of invertibrates. Basically, anything that is a tropical predator and has access to fish as prey eats tropical fish.
