If your cat is needing antibiotics the vet will give you liquid Cephalexin. The usual dose is about 10mg/lbs. So just multiply they weight of the cat times 10. Break up the Cephalexin and take the dose you're giving and mix it in something they'll ingest. This info is helpful but incomplete unless one assumes the author is talking about the calculated dosage administered once a day. I'm no vet but talked to several people who recently had to treat their dog for an infection. Per this Vet's instructs - the 50 pound dog was to take the equivalent of 330mg every 8 hours or so. (2 - 500mg capsules approximately divided into 3 consumptions over the course of a day). This is way too much work for me so, by some crude extrapolation of all this info, I'm currently treating my 12 pound cat, who has a bad cold, with about 125mg twice a day. It's what I'd do myself. One additional thing: I Think a little extra attention & love can be a great catalyst for any treatment.

Why would you want to give a kitten antibiotics, especially cephalexin?? Most young animals such as kittens and puppies should not be on antibiotics unless needed and your Veterinarian is the one you need to take your kitten to, to be checked out. He can then determine if she needs antibiotics and what the correct dosage would be. This is not an antibiotic that is normally prescibed for cats. Go to your Veterinarian first.

Never give any human medication to a cat without instruction by the vet. Their liver does not process medication like ours does. The dosages for a cat have very little resemblance to human dosages (even when body weight is taken into account). It is very easy for a cat overdose on medicines meant for humans and can be fatal if the dosage is wrong.

Under a Veterinarian's care only. Never medicate your dog yourself at home. You don't know which antibiotics are good for which ailments or if your dog even needs an antibiotic. Take your dog in to be checked out by your Veterinarian and let your Vet treat your dog properly. Cephalexin is more of a skin antibiotic but again let your Veterinarian do the treating, not yourself.

Yes, it's a standard veterinary antibiotic for cats. Check with your vet first to see if it's the right drug for your cat's ailment.

Only as much as the veterinarian prescribes (It is a prescription medication.). Several factors are taken into consideration in prescribing medications: weight, the overall condition & health of the kitten (Is s/he hypersensitive or allergic to the drug? Any sensitivities to other cephalosporins or penicillins? Is s/he on other medications, including other antibiotics?

Never give a cat human medicine. Human medicine is much stronger than cat or dog medicine and you could easily overdose the cat. The sneezing and watery eyes could be a sign of Respiratory Infection (cat flu). Take it to a vet just in case.

What do sneeze do?

Cats cat sneeze for a number of reasons. Usually, your cat sneezing just a little bit is a good thing, a sign of him being healthy. However, there are a number of other things that can cause a cat to sneeze. If your cat is sneezing constantly, has discharge from the eyes, has difficulty breathing, etc., he might have Feline Herpes or Chlamydiosis. Don't worry, you won't be able to contract this from your cat; they can only give it to other felines. But this can become a serious condition if not treated by a vet. So really, it depends on the level of how much your cat is sneezing. If it's minimal, don't worry! Your feline companion should be fine. However, if he's sneezing constantly and having any of the symptoms listed above, you should make an appointment with the vet as soon as possible.
