NO, I would'nt say no but it depends. If the wifi you pick up with your laptop is secure with no WEP or password on it then yes you should be able to connect. If it has a WEP or password on it then you will need the WEP key and password to connect and use the wifi. Also the networks you pick up may be Ad-hoc networks these types will not allow you to connect to the internet. So, If theres no password then yes, If it has a password then you need it.
