I believe that there are actually TWO questions here. The answer to the traffic court question is: No you won't - unless you were charged with a serious offense such as DUI or vehicular manslaughter or similar. If you don't appear the judge will find you guilty en absentia, and you will get the fine and the points. On the second question; if you fail to make dcourt because you are being held in jail on an un-related offense, it is unlikely that the judge will apply THAT jail time against the case you failed to show up for.
If you make them come find you, it's very likely. If you contact the court to resolve the problem before they find you, then the overwhelming number of FTA (failures to appear) are resolved with just a payment plan for the ticket.

If you appear before the judge with a smug, nonchalant attitude, he's more likely to impose the maximum sentence.
A failure to appear warrant will be issued and your license will probably be suspended.
Then why did you add it to the Traffic Violation and Ticket category? If it is not a traffic violation then it is most likely a minor misdemeanor offense. A misdemeanor is a crime, therefore, it WILL show up on your adult criminal record.
Any unresolved traffic matter--an unpaid fine, failure to appear on a traffic citation, allowing your insurance to lapse--can cause your drivers license to be suspended or for you to be barred from renewing it. A criminal arrest warrant unrelated to traffic, such as for shoplifting or battery, might also keep you from renewing your license, although that doesn't happen as often. It's more likely the warrant would be discovered at the motor vehicle bureau, and you would be arrested there.
You can make a motion for dismissal but the judge will likely deny it unless you have an attorney. They can make you come back again.
the answer is, "yes, most likely" if the offense was never cleared up.
