What if you shot an intruder with a pistol without a pistol permit?

Frankly, shooting ANYONE, with or without a permit for the weapon, will be likely to create some serious legal problems. If you live in an area that requires a permit for a handgun, then you will likely be prosecuted for that as a separate crime from the shooting. Even if the shooting is found to be legally justified, you have still committed a crime of possession handgun without a permit. Please note that MOST states do not require permits for possession of a firearm- check the laws in YOUR state.

Is it illegal to buy a rifle ant put a pistol-grip on it with out a pistol permit in the state of Florida?

I'm not sure how the system of purchasing a pistol in Florida works, but converting a rifle into something which the BATFE would class as a pistol without being able to legally own a pistol would be illegal, not just in Florida, but in the entire US. Now bear in mind that, to be classed as a pistol, it would have to have just the pistol grip, and no buttstock. If it's a combination of pistol grip and buttstock, it's still considered a rifle, and is still legal, so long as the rifle is still compliant with state laws. Some states (New York, New Jersey, California, Connecticut, Cook County Illinois) still have so-called assault weapons bans in effect.

Can a convicted felon get a pistol permit?

It depends on whether the charge is still on your record, and what the charge was, and the local requirements for a permit in your state. You should probably check with an attorney or a permit instructor to get more information.

How long will an ordinance violation of possession of marijuana stay on an individuals record?

The length of time an ordinance violation for possession of marijuana stays on an individual's record depends on the specific laws of the jurisdiction where the violation occurred. In some places, ordinance violations may stay on a record indefinitely, while in others they may be expunged after a certain period of time or under specific circumstances. DUI on record concealed weapon permit?

If you mean "Can you obtain a concealed weapons permit if you have a DUI on your record," it depends on state laws. Each state sets its own requirements for issuing permits. In Tennessee, as long as the DUI is not a felony and as long as it's been more than a year (I think) and no more than 2 in the last 5 years, you can still get a gun permit.

Are crossbows legal in North Dakota?

You can own one, yes. North Carolina used to require a pistol permit to purchase a crossbow... I can't say with any certainty if that's still in effect, though.
