No. You can have as many as you want.
It is likely your gerbil died of natural causes and the other one was just disposing of its body. It is not very nice to think on but makes a lot of sense in the wild as a dead body would just attract predators.
The female gerbil CAN accept a new female gerbil, but it totally depends on the characteristics of the two gerbils. If one is friendly, and the other is hostile and territorial, they don't go together. You just have to try it out to see what works. some females get along but all of them.
yes, just the same as a gerbil can make us sick.
Yes, she is probably just moving it
Roland Rat didn't have a pet gerbil, but one of his friends, Kevin, was a gerbil.
No there is a big chance of illnes just get a nother gerbil who is not a sibiling of your hamster to mate them
Yes, but just a damp one. And make sure your gerbil is comfortable with it. He/She must be completely dry before being put back in his/her cage.
they just have gerbil food
YES! it would be creepy not to; just having a dead gerbil sitting there. YUK!
Its not that the gerbil poos alot. Its just that some little girls dont clean out the poo
by its tail or if the gerbil is calm u can just pic it up by its sides it wont bite
i haven't had experience with gerbils bleeding-- but with dogs and bleeding feet- you just put a little corn starch on it and it will be fine! the gerbil depends on how much it is bleeding, if only a little it will be OK (as long as you stop the bleeding) i would just coax them away from each other with a little fruit or nut most likely- the gerbil will live =) no worries
