Not for long. A Goldfish grows to at least 10 inches long. You need at least 30 gallons of water for 3 fish, which means a 35 gallon tank is the minimum size for them. The basic rules for keeping fish successfully are :- 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week.. If you follow the above rules your fish will stand a chance of surviving. If you fail in any of them I can guarantee that your fish will be constantly getting sick.

This is not an ideal setup but may be possible with strong filtration and frequent water changes.

Can you breed your goldfish in a ten gallon?

No. A 10 gallon tank is barely big enough to keep a single goldfish in.

How many goldfish can you keep in a 14 gallon tank?

I would personally say none, not for their entire lives anyway. You may get away with 2 Fancy Goldfish juveniles for a couple of months, but really Fancy Goldfish need a minimum of 20 gallons each and Common/Comet Goldfish a minimum of 55 gallons each for their entire lives! They get very big, are very messy and need a lot of water volume!

Can you keep a comet goldfish in a pond?

yes you can keep your comet goldfish in a goldfishpond. In fact having them in a pond is a good idea, as long as they are not subjected to herons and other predators, because this variety of goldfish gets very large: up to a foot! :)

How many comet goldfish can you keep in a 120 liter tank?

Comet goldfish grow to be around a foot long. 120 liters is about 30 gallons so I say about 2. Get fancy goldfish because you could do even five in a tank that size because they don't get as big.

Can a red cap fish be in a tank with a ryukin goldfish?

Yes, for they are both Fancy Goldfish (It's bad to keep Comets with Fancy varities because most likely the comet will become stressed and die).

Can 4 goldfish live in 5 gallons of water?

How many goldfish can i put in a small pond that holds 1000 gallon's?

Goldfish need plenty of room to swim around and get very large. In a 1000 gallon pond you could put 25-50 goldfish just keep in mind that goldfish grow very large and need about 20-30 gallons each when full grown.

Can you put a goldfish in a one and a half gallon bowl?

If it is a small goldfish, it will physically fit in something that small. But, it will not live very long in it. If you wish to keep goldfish alive, you need at least ten gallons of water for each goldfish along with a good filter and a heater to keep the water temperature stable. With proper care goldfish can easily live 15+ years.

How many goldfish should you keep in a fish bowl?

It depends how big your bowl is if it is below 5 gallons then you should put one. But if it is 1 or 2 gallons then you will have to move it into a 5 gallon tank or bowl at the least.

How many bubble eye goldfish can you have in a 1 gallon tank?

ZERO!! A 1 gallon tank is not large enough to keep any kind of fish in. A Bubble eye goldfish can grow to 10 inches long and so, using the basic rule for keeping fish. "1 inch of fish need a minimum of 1 gallon of water" you would need at least a 12 gallon tank to house 1 Bubble eyed goldfish.

What is better putting 20 goldfish into a ten gallon tank or buying ten 1 gallon fish bowls and putting two fish in each?

Neither! A goldfish needs at LEAST 20 gallons of space, adding 10 gallons for each additional goldfish. For example, I own 2 fantail goldfish, and they live happily in a 30 gallon tank. The reason goldfish die so quickly is because people put them in such small containers, and their bodies stop growing but their organs keep expanding. Goldfish are able to live over 10 years, if cared for properly.
