We do - we have four of them in our flat. There are a variety of multi-level cages on offer these days which will fit easily into your flat, taking up little floorspace while still offering plenty of space for the ferrets to play. Of course, you'll still need to let them out of the cage for a minimum of six hours a day and you'll need to be there while they're out because they get themselves into all sorts of mischief. You'll also need to take very great care to ensure the windows are shut, because open windows are just too much temptation for an animal as inquisitive as a ferret. It would be a very great pity if your ferrets were confined to being indoors their entire lives, so get some ferret harnesses - they cost about five pounds - a cat carrier - from about ten pounds up. That way, you can take them outdoors and let them explore without them escaping.
Ferrets are sold in Scotland. So they must be legal to keep as pets.
Ferrets are illegal in the state of California and Hawaii
You can have as many ferrets as you want as long as you have the room and time to take care of them properly. At least 2 ferrets will keep each other company.
Ferrets can help people by giving them a good laugh and can be your best friends. They can keep you company if you get lonely or depressed.
Lots of things, but primarily they'll explore, play fight, try to find spots to dig, and chase you or any other animals in the house. Ferrets need quite a lot of stimulation to keep them from getting bored. (An easy way to tell if they're bored is to watch for them to lay flat on their bellies and stare at you.)
Domestic ferrets do not kill chickens. Any kind of weasels in the wild would prey on chickens. Keep them in a pen.
Launder your ferrets bedding means that it is usually a soft cloth material that needs to be washed regularly to keep odors down.
A ferret might perceive a parrot as prey. Birds tend to be nervous around ferrets. It's best to keep them in separate areas.
You really don't have to train your ferrets to hunt house mice, it should be a natural instinct for them to kill the mice. Also, just the smell of ferrets should keep mice away.
Ferrets are not like other animals, they have a natural hump, not a flat back like other animals
You can keep them all in the same cage provided it has plenty of room and they aren't confined too much. A ferrets cage size at minimum should be at least 3 foot width X 2 foot depth X 2 foot height. A large, well designed cage for ferrets is a necessity especially if you plan on keeping more ferrets in the same cage.
