Depends on your State law and local law and ordinances. Generally speaking a cyclist shall be considered a vehicle and must follow the rules of the road.
You should follow all traffic laws and ordinances pertained to operating a vehicle on the public roads. Your state law will have a section pertaining to bicycists and equipment requirements such as helmet laws, lighting, reflectors, horn, how to signal stopping and turning. Cities may have additional requirements such as licensing.
A public road has been built near me and has been completed but is not 'officially' open and is marked as road closed. The company that built the road has a manned entrance at both ends to prevent access but I can get down the road. Is it illegal for me to cycle down there? Am I trespassing?
Do not cycle on the road
