We have all been there. I was over weight and I starved myself. But i would not recomend it! Yes you do lose weight eating nothing. But you dont know hunger pains until you don't eat. Not eating for me is so terrible, i felt like i was going to faint all day. You don't want that. When I starved myself I lost 3 kg in one week, which is UNHEALTHY. You lose weight all through your body. A GOOD DIET -------- "banana diet" Week one: - have nothing but bananna milkshakes! take a multi vitamin tablet too (have as many as you want) Week two: - have stew or meaty vegetable soup for tea and banana milkshakes for breakfast and lunch Week three: have stew or meaty vegetable soup twice a day and banana milkshake for breakfast. Week four and then on: eat five small meals instead of thee big ones. I done this diet (my own invention!) and I lost 10 kg in four weeks. All you need is bananas, low fat milk, meaty vege stew or soup, and multi vitamins! DO NOT STARVE If you starve yourself you will eventually lose both weight and inches but there are risks associated with starving yourself. The chemistry of the body changes during starvation and you place your body under a lot of stress and in some cases, danger. For example, if you go on long periods of not eating or eating only a few hundred calories a day, you can lose weight in your heart muscle. This can cause a heart attack and you can die from it. If you stop eating for a day or two, you won't lose this kind of weight. However, it is better to restrict your calories and eat everyday to lose weight, than to starve yourself and put your body at risk for harm.

Losing inches is better because that means fat is being burned. I have weighed 162 for awhile however I used to barley squezze in a 14 and now I can wear a10 . I am active by doing toning weights spinning and zumba.

Often when you begin to exercise more you can actually seem to be putting on weight at first because you develop muscle. This tones you up and you might notice the difference when measuring yourself. In time, the weight will reduce but many get discouraged in the meantime. Slow weight loss is much more likely to be permanent than a rapid reduction of weight.

Yes, as you work out you are gaining muscle which is said to weigh more than fat. But as you gain muscle you also burn more calories naturally. After seven weeks of working out, I have not lost any weight, but I have lost two inches off my waist and that reminds me that I am moving in the right direction. Waist size is often more important to you overall health than weight in any case.

Typically if you are slimming down but maintaining your weight (no loss in pounds) it is not necessarily a bad thing, it most likely means that you body is burning fat but also building muscle in exchange. So you may even gain weight but slim down. This is often typical if you are using weight training in your fitness routines.

I would assume because if you are working out, and exercising, you are losing fat, in turn you lose inches; however, you are also building muscle, in turn muscle weighs more than fat.
