Maybe. Some people (not all, but some) may faint when badly frightened. Different people react in different ways. I knew a young lady that fainted when she struck the rear of a car at a stoplight. The doors of the car she struck opened, and 6 police officers got out of the car. She fainted.

Was Samuel Adams ever scared?

I'm not aware of anything in writing that says whether or not he was scared or what scared him but, I can tell you this....we all are scared at some time or other and of something or other. One of the bravest guys I ever knew wasn't scared of man or beast but would literally faint at the sight of a needle pressed to his body. You might want to read "The Red Badge of Courage". Not only is it a great story, it really discusses fear and how it affects the young man in the book.
